More Than Just My Work

I have 2 adult children. The cultivation of their relationship is the greatest achievement of my lifetime (and my relationship with them). Nothing will ever surpass that, so I now dedicate my life to helping others have similar experiences.

Brandys Evans, DCP, RCC-ACS,

Doctor of Counselling and Psychotherapy

You’re looking for the right help for you. Life’s hard when we don’t have the right kind of support. It makes all the difference when you have someone that gets you. I am here to help you  I work with anxiety, trauma, PTSD, family relationships, parenting, ADHD, learning disabilities, and intimate relationships. In other words, situations that make you feel like you’re overwhelmed and like you’re struggling to cope.

I work with people of all ages. My passion is helping people to deeply understand themself and their situation, especially those that have struggled and feel like they have not found the right support or the right answers. I also have an affinity for working with children and youth. Children speak a language that we often forget we once spoke. They are all so desperate to be heard and understood, but aren’t we all?

"If there ever comes a day when we can't be together, keep me in your heart and I'll stay there forever."

My doctoral research was on the neurophysiological and interpersonal neurobiological aspects of shame. I have an insatiable passion for understanding what drives human functioning and behaviour. I apply the knowledge I learn from academia, as well as listening intently to people discuss their inner and outer worlds, to garner understanding, clarity, and commonality of individual challenges. I supervise our highly experienced and knowledgeable counselling interns and lead the Boomerang team, guided by my passion for kindness and caring.
