More Than Just My Work

I am a mom of two teenagers, and I have personal experience and parenting experience with ADHD. In my spare time I like to run trails in the mountains with my partner and my dog-a half husky who has a lot of energy. I challenged myself to run a 50k ultramarathon in 2020 and I’m looking forward to more running goals in the future. I love Billy Joel and Musical Theatre (neither of which are appreciated by my kids on long road trips), reading fiction, and listening to podcasts.

Stefanie Stanley, MA, RCC

Registered Clinical Counsellor

Stefanie enjoys helping children, adult individuals, and families who are neurodiverse by supporting them to manage school, societal pressures, lifestyle demands, and anxiety. This includes those with learning differences, ADHD, or who are autistic. She is available for parent coaching to help develop strong connections and navigate systems such as developing IEPs.

Stefanie is also passionate about supporting adults and looks forward to working with anyone finding their way through life transitions and challenges, such as career changes, new relationships, marriage or separation/divorce, co-parenting, post-partum, loss of a loved one, and aging. In session with Stefanie, you can expect a conversational, warm, and safe space for you to uncover your needs and move forward with awareness, compassion, and a stronger sense of self. Her experience within the acting community has guided her to reach for creative ways of helping people accessing, understand, and communicate their emotions.

Stefanie holds a Masters of Art in Counselling Psychology, a BFA in Theatre from Metropolitan University in Toronto (formerly Ryerson) and a Bachelor of Education from UBC. Originally from the east coast, she has been a teacher in B.C. for the past 17 years.

“How you love yourself is how you teach others to love you.”

I believe that at the root of every human challenge there is a core need-a heart need-that is not being met. Our basic desire is for belonging, but societal pressures, expectations, or negative thoughts can hinder our ability to be our authentic selves with others. I like to help individuals feel heard and understood so that they grow their self-confidence and self-compassion. I can support you to figure out your true desires, understand your needs, and build goals to manage the difficult moments that challenge the facility of a meaningful life and healthy relationships.
