Outside of my counselling work, I love spending time in nature—hiking and snowshoeing are some of my favourite ways to recharge. I also enjoy travelling and discovering new places through good food and meaningful connections.
Since 2005, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside others through their healing journeys, beginning with pastoral counselling for youth and college students. Over time, my work has expanded into clinical counselling, supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds and all stages of life. Since 2016, I have worked extensively with high-risk youth, and I also have experience helping couples strengthen their relationships and communication.
Counselling is a collaborative process focused on helping people to improve their mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical health. Approaches used in counselling can vary but often involve exploring historical issues, thought patterns, beliefs, and behaviours, addressing and responding to specific problems or challenges, facilitating the development of new coping skills, and providing a safe and supportive environment to process difficult emotions or life events.
My therapeutic approach is holistic and trauma-informed, grounded in compassion, authenticity, and the latest insights from neuroscience. I believe therapy should be a safe and supportive space for healing, growth, and self-discovery. I align with the word Qavah, which means “binding together, to lie in wait or eagerly waiting, expecting or hoping for.” This word points to a hopeful optimism found in working together for positive, lasting change.
